This is a beautiful example of a simple jewelry box made into a uniquely special gift. The spots all over this Lacewood are indeed Medullary Ray's! The wood is also referred to as Leopardwood.  My one-of-a-kind box legs and pull were hand-carved out of Claro Walnut. I chose the wood grain of the pedals to create as much dimension as I could. The flower is surrounded by Cedar leaves and the stamen are hand burned to set off their particular texture.
